Our Privacy Policy
Poetry Scotland is a print magazine which publishes new poetry from Scotland and around the globe. It appears twice a year and is available by subscription (details of how to subscribe coming soon). We also have a free email list for news about the magazine and related poetry activities.
Data we keep in relation to magazine subscribers
We keep the names and addresses of magazine subscribers, and the date of their last subscription payment, in order to be able to despatch the magazine to everyone who has paid for it.
This data is stored in the form of an electronic document on the editors' pcs and is not publicly available, or transferred to any storage or location outside the UK.
This data is not shared with any third party.
Magazine subscribers may cancel their subscription at any time by emailing us via the contact form on the website. Their names and addresses will be removed from the list on cancellation. We may retain statistics as to their demographic profile or location (for e.g. funding application purposes) but no personal identifiable details will be retained.
Data we keep in relation to mailing list subscribers
The names and email addresses of mailing list subscribers, and the date they joined the mailing list, are stored by us using Mailchimp, through whom we administer the list. Mailchimp operate in the United States but any data transfers they make from Europe (including Switzerland and the UK) are made in accordance with the EU-US Privacy Shield Frameworks.
Mailchimp will collect usage data on when / whether emails from the mailing list are opened (and they collect further data on the responses to interactive marketing campaigns, where these are in use, but Poetry Scotland does not use interactive marketing and has no plans to do so).

Poetry Scotland does not share mailing list subscribers' data with any external third party and does not allow external third parties to contact subscribers via the mailing list.
